Cory Dugan: Iron Deficiency and Anemia Across the Female Life

“Excited to announce the special collection I am guest editing for Women’s Health (Sage)-Iron Deficiency and Anemia Across the Female Life Course: Bridging Awareness, Diagnosis, and Treatment Gaps.

It is a privilege to be guest editing this Special Collection alongside A/Prof Talat Uppal, whose work on heavy menstrual bleeding and women’s health equity has shaped how I think about this; and Stephanie Shroot, who is the expert at linking strong research and an engaged audience.

It is open now, and we want papers that argue with the defaults rather than restate them.

Four domains of the female life course we are focusing on.

1) Adolescence and menarche.

2) The reproductive years, including heavy menstrual bleeding.

3) Pregnancy, postpartum and lactation.

4) Gynaecological surgery and patient blood management.

The collection will run through 14 February 2027.”
