Eloïse Laouenan, PhD student in Life and Health Sciences at INSERM, midwife at CHU Brest, shared on LinkedIn about a recent article she and her colleagues co-authored, adding:
“New publication of our team about
Epidemiology of Pregnancy Related Venous Thromboembolism!!!
- 20,238 women included at delivery
- 6 maternity units
- 3-month postpartum follow-up
- Postpartum VTE incidence was 4.9 per 1,000 person-years, nearly twice higher than expected
- High VTE incidence after first week PP
- Postpartum thromboprophylaxis underprescribed
- High VTE incidence in intermediate-risk women regardless of thromboprophylaxis
MUM-VTE trial – NCT06845423 is recruiting in France to demonstrate the superiority of LMWH during 6 weeks VS no thromboprophylaxis in intermediate-risk women.
Special thanks to all pregnant women who advance research for women’s health.
Thanks to all the staff.”
