Fabien Mselati: Reflecting on 25 Years of Hemophilia Progress

Fabien Mselati, Vice President of Rare Diseases at Novo Nordisk France, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“From one Paris Congress to another: 25 years of commitment to haemophilia.

In July 2001, the previous ISTH Congress held in Paris coincided with the beginning of my journey in haemophilia.

Returning to Paris for International Society on Thrombosis and Hemostasis (ISTH) 2026, has been a powerful full-circle moment.

Over these 25 years, haemophilia care has changed profoundly.

Protection has become more effective and longer lasting.

New therapeutic approaches have broadened choice, care has become more personalized, and joint health, quality of life and individual aspirations have moved closer to the center of care.

Yet progress has not eliminated compromise.

People living with haemophilia still balance protection, treatment burden and the freedom to live life on their own terms.

Our responsibility is to keep listening and turn scientific advances into meaningful solutions that offer greater choice.

The richest part of these 25 years has been the people.

I have had the privilege of meeting extraordinary individuals from every background and every part of the world: people living with haemophilia and their families, patient advocates, physicians, nurses, researchers, and colleagues.

Their courage, expertise, generosity and determination have shaped my perspective and strengthened my commitment.

Paris 2001 marked a beginning.

Paris 2026 is a moment to look back with gratitude, and forward with renewed purpose.”
