The award was given to IPFA for:

By fostering collaboration, technical expertise, and shared purpose, IPFA has reinforced global solidarity, ensuring that the message of AATM resonates across borders to empower better patient care worldwide.”
The award was presented at the 20th AATM Congress and the 5th AATM-AABB Joint Meeting in Mumbai the 14-15 November.
In the last year, IPFA and AATM have worked actively together in line with its intentions set out in a MoU https://lnkd.in/e8NSwXgU.
Successful Roundtable meetings on plasma and access to PDMPs involving national stakeholders from Asian countries have been arranged during this year.
At the 20th AATM congress, IPFA and AATM held a joint session on the topic of Plasma sourcing.
In presentations by Leni von Bonsdorff and Albert Farrugia brought IPFA recommendations on national plasma strategies which utilize domestic plasma to meet the needs for PDMPs in the same country.
Plasma collection within voluntary non-remunerated blood systems start with utilisation of recovered plasma and can gradually increase by including plasmapheresis programmes.
To enable use of plasma and to enhance safety in the blood systems in general, plasma quality has to be ensured.
There needs to be policies to enable use of plasma and oversight under proper regulatory frameworks covering blood and PDMPs.

IPFA is happy to have been able to contribute to the congress and to the opportunity meet and discuss with attendees from the blood transfusion field as well as industry.
