Maha Othman: Queen’s Health Sciences Advances CAT Risk Models and Pediatric ISTH-BAT Cut-Offs
Maha Othman, Co-Chairman SSC on Disseminated intravascular coagulopathy at International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Great to see the wealth and diversity of research at Queen’s Health Sciences
Particularly proud of Yousra Tera giving an excellent oral presentation from our WiCTEG cancer registry.
This is a prospective study to examine if thromboelastography can be integrated in a new thrombosis risk assessment tool to reduce the huge burden of cancer associated thrombosis in women with cancer under chemotherapy.
And
Ryan Babensee presenting an excellent poster on behalf of the large international team led by Dr. Paula James and myself to better define pediatric normal cut off for needing score using the standard ISTH bleeding assessment tool known as ISTH BAT This global effort and data from 7 countries and 5 continents Helen Okoye, Munira Borhany, Mozah AlMarshoudi, Margareth C Ozelo provided a solid clinically reliable cut off and was also presented at ISTH 2026 this past summer in Paris”
