Praveen Kaudlay: Advancing Hemophilia Care in Davanagere

”It was a great visit to Karnataka Hemophilia Society Davanagere.
What Dr.Suresh Hanagavadi has managed to achieve to establish a classy Comprehensive Haemophilia Care Centre that now caters to a large population
giving latest available treatment and facilities for the acutely bleeding patients.”

“Dr.Praveen Kaudlay Hemato-Oncologist, NHS, London, UK, visited the Karnataka Hemophilia Society (KHS), Davangere, and spent valuable time interacting with mothers and young people with hemophilia.
During the interaction, Dr. Praveen listened to the experiences, concerns, challenges and feelings of the families and youths. He understood their level of acceptance and the realities of living with hemophilia.
The youths openly shared the challenges they had faced during their education and personal development, including the difficulties they experienced while pursuing their aspirations. Dr Suresh Hanagavadi briefed on the current hemophilia treatment scenario and care practices in Karnataka and India, highlighting the needs and challenges faced by the hemophilia community.
Dr. Praveen encouraged and motivated them to remain confident, overcome challenges and focus on living a healthy, independent and good-quality life. His interaction provided the young people with encouragement, hope and a positive perspective towards their future.
Later, Dr. Praveen visited the various facilities at KHS and interacted with the staff, Board members and other team members, gaining an understanding of the comprehensive care, rehabilitation and support services provided to people with hemophilia.
The visit was also enriched by the participation of Dr. Amith K. P., Maxillofacial Oncology anf Reconstructive Surgeon; Dr. M.M. Daddikoppad, Chief Blood Bank Officer,; Er. Prakash Mule, Engineer. The media interaction was a valuable opportunity to share knowledge and create greater awareness about hemophilia and other bleeding disorders.
The visit was a meaningful opportunity for interaction, learning, motivation and sharing of experiences, strengthening the collective commitment towards improving the quality of life of people with Hemophilia.”
