Satyam Arora, Regional Director for South East Asia at the International Society of Blood Transfusion, shared International Society of Blood Transfusion’s post on LinkedIn:

“It’s a pleasure to have new members joining the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) board.

We thank the outgoing board member’s who contributed immensely to the growth of the society. Katerina Pavenski, Maha Badawi, Jose Eduardo Levi.

We look forward to working with the new group (old friends) and take the initiative of ensuring safe blood globally.”

The elected Board Members will begin their terms of office on 23 June 2026 at the ISBT Congress in Kuala Lumpur.

  • President Elect – Christian Erikstrup (Denmark)
  • Secretary General – Jill Storry (Sweden)
  • Vice President – Nelson Hirokazu Tsuno (Japan)
  • Regional Director Eastern Mediterranean – Arwa Z. Al-Riyami (Oman)
  • Regional Director Europe – Katja van den Hurk (Netherlands)
  • Regional Director Latin America – Silvina Kuperman (Argentina)
  • Regional Director North America – Brian Custer (USA)
  • Regional Director Western Pacific – Kazuhiko Ikeda (Japan)
