Sruti Shiva Appointed Scientific Director of the Hemophilia Center of Western Pennsylvania

Sruti Shiva is a highly accomplished basic and translational scientist with an extramurally funded research program focused on understanding the regulation of mitochondrial function and signaling.
Her recent work centers on the role of mitochondrial function in platelet activation and its impact on thrombosis and hematologic disease, and she has authored over 200 publications.
She is a professor in the Vascular Medicine Institute and Division of Classical Hematology, where she also serves as director of the VMI T32 training program and vice chair for basic and translational research in the Department of Medicine.
