Thalassemia Awareness and Free HLA Testing Camp Led by Dr. Rahul Bhargava
Mani Singh, Chief Executive Officer at City Super Speciality Hospital Gorakhpur, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Last Saturday marked a deeply meaningful and impactful initiative as we organized a Thalassemia Awareness and Free HLA Testing Camp in collaboration with Fortis Hospital, Gurugram, under the visionary mission “Mission 2035 – Thalassemia Free India,” led by Dr. Rahul Bhargava.
One of the most heartening outcomes of this camp has been a child from a financially weak background in Gorakhpur, who is now undergoing a free Bone Marrow Transplant with government aid at Fortis Hospital Gurugram. Additionally, four to five children are currently under evaluation for Bone Marrow Transplantation—offering renewed hope to families that need it the most.
The day also witnessed a highly engaging and thought-provoking “Chai Pe Charcha with Club of Gorakhpur Rainbow and Marwadi Yuva Manch “Udaan”, where we discussed actionable strategies to completely eradicate Thalassemia from our country. Such dialogues are essential to move from awareness to action.
We were honored by the esteemed presence of Dr. A. K. Mall, Dr. Shilpa Mall, Mr. Sanjay Garg, and Dr. Sangeeta Mall, along with members of the Rainbow Club and the Purvanchal Thalassemia Society.
Free HLA investigations were conducted, bringing us one step closer to curative treatment for affected children.
This was not just a camp—it was a productive day of collaboration, compassion, and commitment toward building a healthier, Thalassemia-free India.
Together, with the right intent and partnerships, Mission 2035 is achievable.”
