Thomas Gowa: Kenya Advances National Guidelines for Haemophilia Management
Thomas Gowa, Regional Manager, Eastern, Central and Southern Africa at World Federation of Hemophilia, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I was pleased to attend the Kenya Haemophilia Association Medical Advisory Committee Workshop on the Review of the 1st Edition of the Kenya National Clinical Guidelines for the Management of Haemophilia [14 – 15 August 2026].
This is a first step towards harmonizing approaches to haemophilia management and working towards guidelines that respond to patient needs and healthcare providers at different levels of care.
The draft guidelines will be submitted to the Ministry of Health Haematological Technical Working Group for further review and consideration.
I commend the KHA Medical Advisory Committee for assembling a team of multidisciplinary experts and healthcare providers from treatment centres across the country.
The revised edition is being benchmarked against the World Federation of Hemophilia (Fédération mondiale de l’hémophilie) Guidelines for the Management of Hemophilia 3rd Edition.”
