Laurent Pierre Burnier Shares the PINES Randomized Clinical Trial: Eltrombopag for Newly Diagnosed Pediatric ITP

Laurent Pierre Burnier, Biologist and FAMH candidate at Unilabs, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“In children newly diagnosed with immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) who need treatment but don’t have severe bleeding, eltrombopag leads to higher and more sustained platelet responses than standard first-line therapies such as steroids or IV immunoglobulin. It was well tolerated and may be considered an effective early treatment option, potentially reducing the need for repeated or rescue treatments.”
