”Urgent: Thrombolysis Seminar Next week
Dear Esteemed Audience and Champions of Stroke Care,
Across the continent of Africa, where resilience and innovation shape our healthcare journey, we invite you to ASO–WSO Webinar Series 3, dedicated to advancing lifesaving stroke treatment in Africa.
Theme:
Thrombolytic Therapy in Acute Stroke in African Patients: Early and Extended Window
Why This Matters
It has been over 30 years since the first trials proved that thrombolysis saves lives and reduces disability in acute ischemic stroke.
Yet across Africa, its use remains extremely low.
With stroke striking Africans at younger ages and with more severe outcomes, expanding access to thrombolysis is urgent, achievable, and essential.
This webinar brings leading experts who will discuss evidence, African experience, and practical steps to increase thrombolysis across the continent.
Speakers:
• Prof Ahmed Nasreldein, Assiut University, Egypt
• Dr Paul Bolaji, Dorset County Hospital, UK
Moderators:
• Dr. Sarah Matuja, Tanzania and University of Leicester
• Dr Zakaria Mamadou, General Reference Hospital, Niger
Date and Time:
19 November 2025 | 1:00 PM GMT
