Abolfazl Miri: Improving ITP Diagnosis with Readily Available Hematological Indices

Abolfazl Miri, Laboratory Hematology and Transfusion Medicine Specialist at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Sage Journals, adding:

“Can routine CBC parameters help improve ITP diagnosis?

Our recent study investigated NLR, PLR, and HPR in patients with Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP).

The most interesting finding was the excellent diagnostic performance of PLR and HPR, suggesting that inexpensive and readily available hematological indices may support clinical decision-making in ITP.

Sometimes valuable biomarkers are already present in the tests we perform every day.

What is your experience with inflammatory indices in autoimmune hematologic disorders?”
