Anirban Sen Gupta on Biosynthetic Blood Surrogates Current State-of-Art
Anirban Sen Gupta, Wallace R. Persons Professor of Engineering in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University, shared on LinkedIn:
”Excited to share a labor of love from my lab….a historical perspective and comprehensive review of biomaterials-based approaches in the engineering of biosynthetic blood surrogates.
We discuss the challenges and opportunities, failures and successes, spanning four decades of research, and highlight the current State-of-Art, emphasizing how such technologies could potentially enable national and global health equity in transfusion medicine.
Great teamwork by Dante Disharoon, Sonali Rohiwal, Bipin Chakravarthy Paruchuri, Selvin Hernandez, Norman Luc, Rohini Sekar at Case Western Reserve University Department of Biomedical Engineering in getting this wrapped up!
Grateful to Elizabeth Nance for the opportunity to consider this for BioTM.”
