“We often think of HLA as a matching problem.
But HLA is much more than matching.
It is fundamentally a system of immune recognition – influencing how the immune system sees peptides, responds to transfused cells, recognises transplanted organs, reacts to drugs, controls infections, and even identifies cancer cells.
And that broader perspective matters.
I’m delighted to share our new review, ‘Beyond Histocompatibility: Human Leukocyte Antigen as a Cross-Disciplinary Platform for Immune Recognition and Clinical Decision-Making,’ published in Frontiers in Immunology.
