“Pleased to share our latest publication in the Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology!
In this updated meta-analysis, including the recent CHAMPION-AF and CLOSURE-AF trials, we compared LAAC versus oral anticoagulation (OAC) for stroke prevention in patients with atrial fibrillation.
Our findings suggest that LAAC offers comparable risks of overall stroke or systemic embolism and major bleeding to OAC, but is associated with a higher risk of ischemic events and reduced non-procedural bleeding, emphasizing the importance of individualized patient selection and shared decision-making.
