Journal Hemophilia on Bone Health | Vitamin D, DEXA Scans and Bleeding Disorders?
National Bleeding Disorders Foundation recently shared a post on a peculiar topic on X:
”New research shows a major gap in bone health screening for people with hemophilia and VWD. Less than 14% of HTCs use DEXA scans, and under 1/3 check vitamin D. As our community ages, this must change.”

Better late than never—bone health in people with bleeding disorders is finally on the research radar!
It would be refreshingly forward-thinking if future efforts aimed to understand the barriers to bone health in people with Hemophilia and VWD.
And maybe even dared to standardize something as radical as vitamin D testing and DEXA screening!
