Frank Weinz: VTE Prevention Strategies and Advances in Clinical Practice

Frank Weinz, DVT Spezialist at Arjo, shared Cardinal Health‘s post on LinkedIn:

“Very important article, in relation of preventing VTE.

The prevention of venous thromboembolism is a key focus of clinical care and is constantly evolving.

The new S3 AWMF guideline on VTE prophylaxis has now been published and redefines the professional landscape in Germany.

Among other things, the guideline focuses on:

Intermittent Pneumatic Compression (IPC) to prevent thromboembolic processes.

Arjo is focussing on strategies for preventing VTE.

With the Flowtron ACS900, HCW‘s are having an effective and evidence prooved device for VTE prevention.

Intermittend pneumatic compression carries an even lower risk of bleeding – or no risk at all.

It is a highly efficient method of physical thrombosis prevention developed by Arjo.

The Flowtron ACS 900 from Arjo provides highly effective thrombosis prevention.

Furthermore, it has demonstrated proven efficacy in significantly reducing the rate of DVT and PE.

Cardinal Health shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Venous Thromboembolism (VTE) can adversely impact a patient’s wellbeing and lengthen their recovery time in hospital.

Fortunately, VTE is preventable. With the latest international VTE treatment protocols, healthcare professionals are now better equipped than ever to manage blood clots in patients who have undergone surgery.

Speaking to the Australian Health Journal, Cardinal Health ANZ Managing Director Neroli Manning discussed the recent International Consensus Statement on the Prevention and Management of VTE and highlighted how combining mechanical and pharmacological VTE prophylaxis could benefit post – operative ICU patients.
