Ghaith Abu-Zeinah: ASH Publishes 2026 Guidelines for Myelofibrosis Management in Blood Advances

Ghaith Abu-Zeinah, Member Board of Directors and Chief Medical Advisor at Cancer Research and Treatment Fund, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Blood Advances, adding:

“It was a privilege to contribute to the American Society of Hematology (ASH) 2026 Guidelines for the Management of Myelofibrosis in Adults, published today in Blood Advances, alongside an outstanding multidisciplinary panel of experts and patient representatives.

These evidence-based guidelines provide 10 recommendations addressing key clinical decisions in myelofibrosis, including:

  • Molecular testing and risk stratification
  • JAK inhibitor therapy and symptom management
  • Management of anemia
  • Timing of stem cell transplantation and referral
  • Thrombosis prevention and supportive care

Importantly, the guidelines also highlight critical gaps in evidence and opportunities for future research.

Grateful to ASH, Dr. Brady Stein (panel chair), and all colleagues involved in this collaborative effort to advance evidence-based, patient-centered care for individuals living with myelofibrosis.”
