Grace Yau: Inhalable Platelet Lysate Opens New Possibilities for Pulmonary Therapy

Grace Yau, President of AAPS USYD Student Chapter, Casual Academic at University of Sydney, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article she and her colleagues co-authored, published in International Journal of Pharmaceutics, adding:

”Happy to share that a new paper from our group, ‘Inhalable spray dried human platelet lysate powders‘ has been published in the special issue ‘Pulmonary drug delivery‘ of International Journal of Pharmaceutics!

We successfully developed spray-dried inhalable platelet lysate powders that preserve key biological functions while achieving efficient aerosol delivery to the lungs. The optimised formulation showed enhanced stability, improved lung deposition, and maintained anti-inflammatory activity in an in vitro model.

This work highlights the potential of transforming platelet-derived biologics into inhalable therapies, creating new opportunities for treating pulmonary diseases through targeted drug delivery.”
