”Comprehensive Management of Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis: Principles, Evidence, and Outcomes
Cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) represents a distinct cerebrovascular disorder characterized by heterogeneous clinical presentations and variable outcomes.
Effective management hinges on early recognition, prompt stabilization of life-threatening complications, and timely initiation of definitive therapy.
Anticoagulation remains the cornerstone of treatment, even in the presence of intracerebral hemorrhage, with growing evidence supporting the use of direct oral anticoagulants in selected patients.
Reperfusion strategies and surgical decompression are reserved for refractory or malignant cases.
Longterm prognosis is generally favorable, though persistent neurological and cognitive sequelae are common.
This review synthesizes contemporary evidence and guideline-based recommendations to outline a rational, patient-centered approach to the treatment and management of CVST.”
