Joffrey Feriel: Comprehensive Review of Laboratory Assays for von Willebrand Factor and Associated Disorders
Joffrey Feriel, Associate director of medical affairs at STAGO, shared a post on LinkedIn about recent articles by François Depassea et al, adding:
“A myriad of laboratory assays, from first line to esoteric assays, exist to enable adequate diagnosis of VWD and other diseases influenced by VWF.
Choosing the right test for the right situation can be tedious and DIN members are helping us with this task by publishing two excellent review articles.
The first article provides a comprehensive overview of all relevant assays with their technical features, analytical performance and availability for research and clinical purposes.
The second article focuses on the use of these assays for the diagnosis of VWD, acquired von Willebrand syndrome, and for thrombotic risk assessment.
