“Traumatic disseminated intravascular coagulation: a narrative review of modern concepts in pathophysiology, diagnosis, and management
Traumatic disseminated intravascular coagulation is a severe complication of major injury and a strong driver of death and disability.
This review describes a shifting process that opens with a hyperfibrinolytic phase and moves toward microvascular thrombosis and organ failure, reframing the disorder as a breakdown of immunothrombosis driven by damage-associated molecular patterns.”
