How to Monitor and Manage Unfractionated Heparin in Practice – JTH
Jornal of Thrombosis and Hemostasis (JTH) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“How to monitor and manage unfractionated heparin in practice (Part 1)?
Guidance from the SSC of the ISTH
This ISTH SSC guidance addresses everyday monitoring of unfractionated heparin.
It recommends weight-based dosing nomograms while noting that no single nomogram has proven superior, and it advises against routine antithrombin supplementation for acquired deficiency.
The authors flag wide evidence gaps and call for research to refine heparin monitoring, with later documents to cover special populations.”
