Kemal Karaagac: When Vitamin K Antagonists Remain Essential in Cardiac Care
Kemal Karaagac, Cardiologist at Cihangir Hospital, shared a post on X about a recent article by Eva Kempers et al., published in Heart, adding:
“VKAs remain essential when DOACs are unsuitable or their benefit is uncertain, including mechanical valves, AF with moderate-to-severe mitral stenosis, thrombi, and some frail older patients. Despite DOAC advances, VKA therapy remains vital in selected patients.”
