Khadijeh D.: New Insights into Myeloproliferative Neoplasms

Khadijeh D., Vice Dean of Education in Daculty of Medical Dciences at Islamic Azad University, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article she and her colleagues co-authored, published in Cancers, adding:

“We are pleased to announce the publication of our manuscript entitled ‘Inflammatory and Immune Microenvironment in Myeloproliferative Neoplasms: Pathogenic Mechanisms and Therapeutic Opportunities’ in the Q1, Cancers (MDPI) journal in the field of Oncology on August 21, 2026.

This comprehensive review provides an in‑depth analysis of the complex interplay between chronic inflammation, immune dysregulation, and bone marrow niche remodeling in Philadelphia ‑ negative myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), emphasizing how driver mutations in JAK2, CALR, and MPL activate the JAK–STAT and NF‑κB pathways to create a self‑sustaining inflammatory microenvironment that drives fibrosis, thrombosis, and leukemic transformation.

The review also critically evaluates current therapeutic strategies including JAK inhibitors, CALR‑targeted immunotherapies, epigenetic modulators, and combination approaches and offers a clinically oriented framework for developing more effective, mutation‑specific treatments.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all co‑authors and collaborating institutions, including Kashan University of Medical Sciences, Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, Islamic Azad University (Tabriz), and Fox Chase Cancer Center (Temple University Health System), for their invaluable contributions to this work.

We congratulate the entire team on this meaningful achievement as we remain committed to advancing cancer research and precision medicine.”
