Mona Ranade: A Contemporary Framework for Managing Right Heart Thrombus in PE
Mona Ranade, Clinical Associate Professor at Stanford University, shared on LinkedIn about a recent article she and her colleagues co-authored, published in CHEST Journal, adding:
”Excited to share our latest work published in CHEST Journal:
‘A contemporary approach to diagnosis and treatment of right heart thrombus associated with pulmonary embolism.’
Right heart thrombus in the setting of PE represents a uniquely high-risk and often under-defined clinical scenario.
Despite its severity, management strategies remain heterogeneous and not rigorously standardized.
In this piece, we outline a practical, contemporary framework for diagnosis and treatment – aimed at helping clinicians navigate these complex, high-stakes decisions at the bedside.
Proud to collaborate with an incredible team on this work.
Would love to hear how others are approaching RHT in PE in their institutions.”
