Nadia Tarhini: Evaluating the Risk of Recurrent Thrombosis in Children with ALL
Nadia Tarhini, Clinical Research Assistant at Boston Children’s Hospital, shared on LinkedIn about a recent article she and her colleagues co-authored, published in Thrombosis Research, adding:
“I’m excited to announce my first co-authorship on a research publication!
I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this project and gain a more in-depth knowledge about venous thrombo-embolisms among pediatric patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
A special thank you to Dr. Riten Kumar on the opportunity to work collaboratively on this project and Dr. Olivia Perrone and Dr. Lynda Vrooman for their ongoing support and guidance throughout BCH/DFCI’s contribution on this project!”
Riten Kumar, Director of Thrombosis and Anticoagulation at Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, reposted Nadia Tarhini’s post on LinkedIn:
“Was great to collaborate with Dr Pelland-Marcotte on this multicenter study evaluating the risk of recurrent thrombosis in children with ALL.
Notably, the risk of recurrence remains substantial, with most patients experiencing recurrent thrombosis early during treatment.
These findings underscore the need for better predictors of thrombus progression and recurrence in children with cancer associated thrombosis.”
Title: Clinical outcomes following catheter-related venous thrombo-embolism among children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia
