After an incredible journey, I successfully defended my PhD Thesis on the 18th of December entitled: “Optimzing recanalization in acute ischemic stroke patients: Encompassing intravenous thrombolysis and endovascular treatment.”
I’m very grateful for the guidance by my promotors and co-promotor: Wim van Zwam, Robert van Oostenbrugge, and Christiaan van der Leij.
Further, I want to thank the PhD committee: Barend Mees, Michiel de Haan, Eline Kooi, Irene van der Schaaf, Jeroen Boogaarts, and Bob Roozenbeek for their valuable time and interesting discussions.
And last but not least, a huge thanks and big hug to my paranymphs Pleun Maarsingh-Knapen and Lonneke Knapen – van Steenkiste for their help and support!
