Rory R Koenen on Platelet-Derived Extracellular Vesicle Analogues from Lyophilized Platelets
Rory R Koenen, Professor at Maastricht University, shared on LinkedIn:
”Making extracellular vesicles from lyophilized platelets? Impossible!
Or maybe not?
At least the vesicles made by sonication come pretty close to those isolated from freshly obtained platelets.
This opens opportunities to investigate the actions of extracellular vesicles even if storage is needed in between.
Read about it in the recent work by Xin Xin, Ingrid Dijkgraaf, Tilman Hackeng, and myself now published in the journal Extracellular Vesicle (Elsevier).”
