Víctor S. Rangel: Advanced Endovascular Management in Severe Postpartum CVST
Víctor S. Rangel, Obstetrician-gynecologist and Career Researcher at Women’s Institute, Méderi, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Frontiers in Reproductive Health, adding:
“I am pleased to share our latest publication in Frontiers in Reproductive Health:
‘Endovascular mechanical thrombectomy for the treatment of extensive postpartum cerebral venous sinus thrombosis: a case report.’
This work highlights the continued progress of the Women’s Institute at Hospital Universitario Mayor-Méderi in the multidisciplinary management of critically ill obstetric patients and complex maternal conditions.
The case illustrates how timely multidisciplinary decision-making and advanced endovascular management can contribute to favorable outcomes in severe postpartum cerebral venous sinus thrombosis, with complete neurological recovery documented at six-month follow-up.
This publication also reflects our commitment to integrating high-complexity clinical care, multidisciplinary collaboration, and clinical research to generate evidence and improve maternal outcomes.
Congratulations to the entire clinical and research team involved in this work.”
