Yusuf Wardak: Endovascular Therapy Improves Quality of Life in Proximal Lower Limb DVT
Yusuf Wardak, Medical Student at The University of Melbourne, shared on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology journal, adding:
“Excited to share that our latest review, Quality of Life Following Endovascular Treatment of Proximal Lower Limb Deep Vein Thrombosis: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis, has been published in Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (JVIR).
We conclude that endovascular therapy offers reduced rates of post thromboticsyndrome and improvements in multiple quality-of-life assessment tools compared to anticoagulation alone.
Future studies should use standardised, vein-specific quality-of-life assessments when assessing venous disease to allow for more effective pooling of evidence.
A huge thank you to my co-authors: Yun-En Chung, Julian Maingard, Hamed Asadi, Hong Kuan Kok and Goran Mitreski.”
