Alexandra Whiteside on Improving Coagulation Kinetics
Alexandra Whiteside, Fulbright Germany Researcher, shared on LinkedIn:
”Hi everyone!
I’m excited to share that my paper, “Improving Coagulation Kinetics: A Mathematical Approach to Incorporating Intermediate Complexes in Thrombin Models,” has been published in the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) journal SIURO (Vol. 18).
This work began as a class project with Emily Phan for a Mathematical Biology course.
It was inspired by questions that came up during my main research project on developing a new mathematical model of coagulation, as I noticed that many existing models simplify reaction schemes and often omit intermediate complexes — a simplification that can impact model accuracy.
Read more about it here.”
