Steven AR Murphy: It’s Time Medicine Caught Up With Molecular Biology
Steven AR Murphy, Medical Director, Concierge Medical Associates, shared a post on LinkedIn:
”The FDA finally admitted what many of us in longevity medicine have said for years: the black box warnings on estrogen and progesterone were likely wrong.
For over two decades, women were told hormones would kill them. Men were told testosterone would stop their hearts. The result? Two generations of physicians trained to fear biology instead of understanding it.
Concierge Medical Associates has had to answer many State requests because of flawed black boxes over the years….do they now feel bad for creating thousands in legal fees? Nope……
Here’s the reality:
Estrogen protects mitochondria, neurons, and vessels.
Progesterone calms inflammation and restores sleep.
Testosterone rebuilds muscle, bone, and drive.
Loss of these hormones isn’t just about aging……it is aging. They regulate the hallmarks: mitochondrial dysfunction, cellular senescence, and loss of proteostasis.
It’s time medicine caught up with molecular biology. Fear-based policy set us back 20 years. Longevity medicine is about restoring function, not chasing youth.
The FDA reversed course. Now clinicians must, too.
At 11:11 like always…..
