Kayane Mheidly: Hemostasis and Coagulation in Pregnancy
Kayane Mheidly, Hospital Practitioner at Hôtel-Dieu de France, shared on LinkedIn:
”Pregnancy is associated with changes in the hemostasis balance with a natural increase in the coagulation to prevent bleeding during delivery and the postpartum. Unfortunately, In some cases this hypercoagulable status can lead to thrombosis and can have severe consequences on the mother health and on the baby !
I was delighted to represent Hôtel-Dieu de France and the Hematology Department at the Women and Hemostasis conference, organized by the Lebanese Hematology Society and the Lebanese Gynecology Society today at Beirout to discuss Hemostasis and Coagulation in Pregnancy.”
