Chioma Okpalaora on The Role of Pharmacists in the Periprocedural Management of Anticoagulation
Chioma Okpalaora, Teaching Assistant at Memorial University, Newfoundland and Labrador, shared on LinkedIn:
”This week was Research Week at Memorial University, Newfoundland and Labrador, Research at Memorial University, and the School of Pharmacy hosted its annual Research Day.
I had the opportunity to participate in the 3-Minute Snappy Synopsis competition and present our work titled “The Role of Pharmacists in the Periprocedural Management of Anticoagulation: A Scoping Review.”
It was a great experience to share our findings and highlight the importance of advancing pharmacist involvement in perioperative care.
I’m excited to continue building on this work to help inform clinical practices and service delivery in developing standard processes and further integrating pharmacists as core members of the healthcare team.
A special thank you to my supervisor, Tiffany Lee, and supervisory committee member Stephanie Young for their support and guidance throughout this journey.
This experience has been a valuable learning curve and has significantly strengthened my research skills.”
