”Cherrypicking inclusion in clinical trials may underestimate the effect of an intervention.
Two centers involved in DMVO clinical trials have compared those patients included in trials and those that were treated without randomization during recruitment period (no exclusion criteria).
Patients included in clinical trials had lower median NIHSS score and smaller hypoperfunded area.
Those results (and recent guidelines) highlight the relevance of consecutive enrollment.
