Lucie Gelon: Proud to Share My 1st Achievements in The Scientific and Platelet World
Lucie Gelon, PhD in Immunology at Paul Sabatier University and IPBS in Toulouse, shared on LinkedIn about a recent article she and her colleagues co-authored, adding:
”I am proud to share my first achievements in the scientific and platelet world.
This paper is part of my PhD work and focuses on the IL-33/ST2 pathway in platelet biology.
“The alarmin Interleukin-33 modulates platelet proteome, function and biogenesis” is available online in Blood Advances.
Our study shows that IL-33 modulates platelet production and function :
· In an IL-33-deprived environment, platelet adhesion and thrombus formation are impaired
· IL-33 shapes platelet proteome toward a pro-inflammatory phenotype
· IL-33 increases platelet production in the lung through enhanced megakaryocyte fragmentation
I want to thank my supervisor, Emma Lefrancais and all the co-authors and collaborators Stéphane Roga, Jean-Philippe Girard, Anne Gonzalez de Peredo, Edith Vidal and Sonia SEVERIN for their help and support.”
