Sophia Delicou: Does Hepatic Dysfunction Truly Reflect Thrombotic Risk in Hemoglobinopathies?
Sophia Delicou, Clinical Hematologist and Head of the Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Unit at Hippocration General Hospital Athens, shared on LinkedIn about a recent article she and her colleagues co-authored, adding:
“New scientific publication
We are pleased to share our recent article published in Hematology and Transfusion International Journal, a study originating from the Center of Expertise for Hemoglobinopathies.
The work addresses an issue that is often taken for granted: whether hepatic dysfunction truly reflects thrombotic risk in hemoglobinopathies.
Our findings highlight the complexity of thrombotic risk assessment and underscore the need for a more holistic, multifactorial approach, supported by strong interdisciplinary collaboration.
Sincere thanks to all members of our team for their contribution and commitment.”
