Our newly published article, ‘Quality of life in patients with transfusion-dependent hemoglobinopathies: evidence from an Expert Center in Greece,’ highlights the real-world burden of chronic transfusion care, as reported directly by patients.
The study sheds light on key challenges such as frequent hospital visits, treatment adherence, monitoring of iron overload, and ongoing concerns about blood availability, issues that significantly shape daily life beyond clinical outcomes.
Listening to patients’ experiences is essential for developing more organized, patient-centered, and sustainable care pathways.”
