Ahmed Nasreldein: Discussing the Inequities of Stroke Care in LMICs at ISC26

Ahmed Nasreldein, Professor of Neurology at Assiut University, shared on LinkedIn:

”It was a real pleasure to be interviewed by Video Journal of Neurology (VJNeurology) at ISC26 to discuss the inequities of stroke care in low and middle income countries (LMICs).

We spoke about the major challenges facing the delivery of Intravenous thrombolysis , mechanical thrombectomy (MT) and rehabilitation services in LMICs including infrastructure gaps, limited trained personnel, delayed presentation, financial barriers, and the need for sustainable stroke systems of care.

I also had the opportunity to highlight our recent work on sex disparities in stroke care among Egyptian stroke patients.

Addressing these inequities is essential if we aim to deliver truly inclusive and evidence based stroke care.”
