Heghine Khachatryan: Advancing Care for Women and Girls with Bleeding Disorders is A Matter of Equity
Heghine Khachatryan, Editor-in-Chief of Hemostasis Today, Head of Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center at Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center, shared WFH’s post on LinkedIn, adding:
”On the occasion of International Women’s Day, I am pleased to see the WFH webinar dedicated to pregnancy care in women and girls with bleeding disorders.
Pregnancy in women with inherited and acquired bleeding disorders remains a highly specialized and often under-recognized area of clinical practice.
Optimal management requires a multidisciplinary model involving hematology, obstetrics, anesthesiology, neonatology, and laboratory medicine, with individualized peripartum planning and postpartum hemorrhage prevention strategies.
Strengthening awareness, improving diagnostic pathways, and ensuring access to appropriate factor replacement and hemostatic support are essential steps toward reducing maternal morbidity.
Advancing care for women and girls with bleeding disorders is not only a clinical priority — it is a matter of equity.”
Quoting World Federation of Hemophilia (WFH)‘s post:
”Are you an HCP looking to strengthen your approach to caring for women and girls with Bleeding Disorders during pregnancy?
