Managing Acquired Von Willebrand Syndrome in a Swine Polytrauma Model During ECLS – JTH
Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (JTH) shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article by Teryn Roberts et al, adding:
“Von Willebrand Factor Dynamics in Trauma Managed with Extracorporeal Life Support
In a swine polytrauma model, acute injury attenuates ECLS – induced VWF high-molecular-weight multimer depletion, while heparin anticoagulation preserves VWF function and ADAMTS – 13 activity, offering key insights into managing acquired von Willebrand syndrome during extracorporeal life support.”
