Bleeding disorders are not always obvious – they range from mild symptoms to life – threatening conditions.
Know the Major Types:
- Platelet Disorders
(ITP, Glanzmann Thrombasthenia, Bernard-Soulier Syndrome)
- Von Willebrand Disease (VWD)
Most common inherited bleeding disorder
- Coagulation Factor Deficiencies
(Hemophilia A/B, Factor deficiencies)
- Acquired Bleeding Disorders
(Due to drugs, liver disease, malignancy, autoimmunity)
Common Warning Signs:
- Frequent nosebleeds / gum bleeding
- Easy bruising
- Heavy menstrual bleeding
- Joint or muscle bleeds
- Prolonged bleeding after injury or surgery
