Gaganjit Kaur: Nesfatin-1 as a Neuroprotective Target in Hyperhomocysteinemia-Induced VCID

Gaganjit Kaur, Associate Professor at Maharaja Agrasen University, shared a post on LinkedIn, about a recent article by Gaganjit Kaur et al., published in International Journal of Drug Delivery Technology adding:

“L-Methionine 1.7 g/kg; for 8 weeks, orally, induced hyperhomocysteinemia, and consequent VCID.

Nesfatin-1 is a neuropeptide, highly expressed in brain.

Nesfatin-1 is involved in appetite regulation, mitochondrial biogenesis and energy production, neuroprotection.

In addition Nesfatin-1 exhibits potent anti-neuroinflammatory, antioxidant and antiapoptotic effect․”
