Dorcas Gandhi: Telerehabilitation, Low-Cost Robotics in India and AVERT-DOSE Results at ESOC 2026
Dorcas Gandhi, Vice Principal and Professor, Research Fellow and Telerehab Consultant at Christian Medical College and Hospital, shared on LinkedIn:
”The discussions on stroke rehabilitation at European Stroke Organisation Conference 2026 were truly invigorating.
It is always inspiring to connect with passionate, like-minded professionals from across the globe, united by a shared commitment to improving the lives of people affected by stroke.
I had the opportunity to speak about my work in telerehabilitation and low-cost robotics in India, an area that continues to hold immense promise for accessible stroke care.
It was also wonderful to celebrate the AVERT-DOSE results with Julie Bernhardt and reconnect with colleagues from ISRRA Emerging Leaders: Rachel C Stockley , WSO Future Stroke Leaders: Ana Cláudia de Souza, Marco Pasi and WHF Emerging Leaders: Hariklia.
Co-speakers from both sessions were amazing too: David Moulaee Conradsson, Niki Chouliara, Gert Kwakkel, Sharon Kramer, Mia Kolmos!
A special thanks to Julia Shapranova for convincing the usually anti-social me to attend the faculty dinner, I’m so glad I did.
It turned into an evening of thoughtful conversations on stroke care, health systems, humanities, history, and life itself, all accompanied by lovely music and wine.
And a special shout-out to Noor David on attending her first international conference, the first of many, I’m sure
Maastricht is a beautiful city, a must in your bucket list.
