“Aortic dissection is one of the most time-critical emergencies in medicine.
A missed or delayed diagnosis can be fatal within hours.
Recognizing the red flags—sudden severe chest or back pain, pulse discrepancies, or signs of shock—can make the difference between life and death.
Early diagnosis with CT angiography and prompt management are essential.
- Type A requires urgent surgery.
- Type B is usually managed medically.
Awareness saves lives.”
