Arshad-Ali Auhammad: Celebrating Youth Leadership in the Global Bleeding Disorders Community
Arshad-Ali Auhammad, Audit Associate at KPMG Mauritius, Trainer at The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Foundation, shared World Federation of Hemophilia’s post on LinkedIn:
“Proud and humbled to share that the Mauritius–India Youth Twinning partnership has been awarded the 2025 Hemophilia Organization Twins of the Year Award, presented during the WFH Congress 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
This recognition reflects the strong collaboration between both our communities and the sustained commitment to youth engagement, peer support, and capacity building in the bleeding disorders space.
At the Mauritius level, I had the privilege of leading this youth twinning initiative alongside Mohsena Olath and Young Wellan, working closely with our colleagues in India to ensure continuity, structure, and meaningful youth participation throughout the past two years.
I would also like to extend sincere thanks to the Hemophilia Federation (India) Youth Team for their constant support, guidance, and partnership spirit, which has been instrumental in shaping the success of this collaboration.
A huge thank you also goes to Evelyn C. and Thomas Gowa from the World Federation of Hemophilia who provided us with invaluable support during this endeavour.
Over the last two years, this twinning has significantly strengthened youth engagement in Mauritius, creating greater participation, improved leadership exposure, and more consistent involvement of young people with bleeding disorders in activities, discussions, and cross-country exchanges.
It has helped build confidence, continuity, and a stronger sense of belonging within our youth community.
Receiving this award at the World Congress in Kuala Lumpur was a proud moment, not only for the partnership but for what it represents for youth development in our respective countries.
