Arman Qamar: Can Ischemic Stroke Polygenic Risk Scores Predict Recurrent Events After Coronary Revascularization?

Arman Qamar, Interventional Cardiologist NorthShore University HealthSystem, shared a post on LinkedIn about a recent article he and his colleagues co-authored, published in European Journal of Preventive Cardiology, adding:

”Excited to share our latest publication in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology: ‘Ischemic Stroke Polygenic Risk Score and Recurrent Cardiac and Cerebrovascular Events After Coronary Artery Revascularization’

In this study, we explored whether ischemic stroke polygenic risk scores can help identify patients at higher risk for recurrent cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events following coronary revascularization.

As cardiovascular care continues moving toward precision medicine, integrating genetic risk with traditional clinical assessment may improve long-term risk stratification and secondary prevention strategies.

Grateful to our outstanding co-authors and collaborators who contributed to this work.

Looking forward to future efforts bridging genomics, outcomes research, and personalized cardiovascular care.”
