Julie De Backer: Discussing Precision Aortic Medicine at the World Heart Federation Meeting
Julie De Backer, Professor at Ghent University, Deputy Editor at American Heart Association, Nucleus member ESC WG on Aorta and Peripheral Vascular Disease at European Society of Cardiology, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Today, I had the immense pleasure and honor to talk about Precision Aortic Medicine – and how to implement this on a global scale – at the World Heart Federation meeting in Geneva.
While genetics have definitely helped us to better understand the pathophysiology of aorticdisease, deeper integration with biomarkers, imaging and AI will eventually improve outcomes and in the end, equity will determine the impact!
Great discussion, led by Yellapragada S. Chandrashekhar with Eduardo Bossone, Eloisa Arbustini, Giuseppe Limongelli.
Nice to also meet with Eileen Novins from the The Marfan Foundation!
Thank you Jagat Narula for inviting me and with the organisation of this amazing meeting!”
